The formation of Champ Hanger Metal Works (M) S/B in April 1998 was the attribution of expertise on wire based products in term of technicality, production management, skilled human resources, market know how coupled with market potential and opportunities both locally and overseas.
Champ specialized in the production of shopping trolley. In the early 90’s, when hypermarket such as Champ and Carrefour started to expand their business with new branches, there is sudden rise in trolley demand. Follow that, retailers Giant and Tesco started making their appearance in the local market and expanded further as well.
The sudden surge in the number of large hypermarket has lead to the increased in demand for shopping trolleys, and as a result, saw new businesses for Champ Hanger Metal Works (M) S/B.
The orders for new trolleys has increased substantially in local market and Champ has looked further into expanding the correct operations which includes, space extension, labour recruitment, high tech equipment investment and most importantly having a in house powder coating line to provide better yield and more consistent quality. All those investment has brought the company into a new era at high tech equipment utilization, high quality standards to meet overseas quality requirements and economics of scale, which makes our trolleys more competitive in the international market, in terms of pricing and quality.
Our affiliation with CADDIE’s company and the expansion of hypermarket retailers in the ASEAN has brought more good news to Champ. Champ trolleys, manufactured under the license of CADDIE COMPANY in France, are now exported to the countries in ASEAN region.
Not only have Champ been able to supply locally, we have been chosen by international retailer such as Carrefour, TESCO, Giant and many more to supply trolleys to all of their new openings in ASEAN region. |
